The Riverhouse Herb Farm was started in 1980 and has been since then in the hands of the same owner, Elke Roland.
In 1989 Jim Blain became a partner of the Riverhouse Herb Farm. We relocated the nursery to an other part of the property in 1990 to give better facilities and enlarge the nursery.
Since then we have added ponds with Japanese Koi which are for sale to the public. We are now breeding our own koi to offer colourful pond koi to the public for a reasonable price.
For the past 8 years we have collected a nice selection of Parrots&Cockatoos, which we are breeding and some are hoping to breed. All our birds are hand raised with lots of TLC. We can sell some of our birds to the public (Australia) and some are protected birds, which we can only sell to other breeders with a licence.
In the nursery we stock all sorts of herbs and some of them are hard to come by and rare. We also have a large range of cottage plants and a smaller range of aquatic plants.
Unfortunately Jim died on January 23, 2001 We were together for 12 years. He will be sadly missed.
